Cobras Youth Wrestling

The Palatine Cobras Club runs from early November to mid-March at Fremd High School in Palatine. It is designed for kids ages 5-14, all skill levels, with optional Sunday Tournaments.

Sign up via the Palatine Park District (winter program catalog, program #404900-01).

Practices are from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Some equipment might be available to rent/borrow, but wrestling shoes and headgear can also be purchased at sporting goods stores.

If you would like to attend a practice to see if your child is interested in wrestling just stop by! Enter Fremd High School through door 11 by the baseball fields.

A summer camp will be offered with dates TBD.

Anyone can wrestle!

  • It is a sport for all sizes of people, both male and female
  • Everyone participates – there is no sitting on the bench in wrestling!
  • Wrestling builds endurance, strength, agility, persistence, humility and self-confidence.
  • Wrestling is a skill based sport. You do not need to be the strongest or most coordinated to succeed.
  • Wrestling makes you a better athlete across all sports.
  • Safety is taken seriously. Youth wrestling is as safe or safer than soccer, basketball and lacrosse.

Palatine Cobras are a member of the Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation (IKWF)
